Dual Identities

What would you do if you think your current life isn't up to your expectations?

What would you do if you want to be more superior than others?

What would you do if you can be someone other than yourself?

Well, these questions were lingering in my mind on the way back from Bugis yesterday. I had a very interesting Sunday. Not only that I get to show my Street Fighter skills to the masse, I actually went up close and personal with a group of people that I am always amazed with. Cosplayers. Well, they appeared at the Dotcon toy convention at Excelsior Hotel. Valentine and Sky were also there, taking photos of the cosplayers. And not forgeting SpikeOut.(Keep forgeting his real name...) I actually played a few matches with Choji(Erm..I still haven't get some cosplayers' real names...) and interacted with the rest of the cosplayers. They are mostly younger than me. I did managed to find someone close my age and not to forget RayWing(Andy). Andy happens to live just across a road from my block. When the event was over, I followed them to have dinner at Hisatomo.

One of them...Lao Peh/Gai Sensei(Weilun) ordered soba and learnt that he can't take in cold food. Now...what surprised(Still do...) me is that once a cosplayer washes away the paints and changes into his/her normal clothes, he/she is no different from a normal person. The time and effort to make their costumes and to behave and talk like the characters they are cosplaying. The satisfaction of being recognised as someone that's supernatural or as an idolized character. To be someone other than yourself. Well, I managed to widen my social circle a bit though. (^^,)>>

Well, I got to learn that Andy happens to in multi-level marketing during the dinner in Hisatomo. And one of the cosplayers actually showed interest in this trend too. Well, it dawns to me that this trend is slowly taking over. Some of my friends are in this trend too. I have personally been to the talks and frankly speaking, any human will be moved or motivated. Imagine....the freedom to be your own boss. The chance to win a car. The chance to earn much more than others. The benefit of being well taken of. But it appears that people just don't consider or think what they really want. Being practical isn't a bad point. Being hot-headed is suicide. You will need much more motivation if you want to survive. As i said, it is a trend. And as humane as ever, people tend to follow it....blindly.

Remember when you are young, do someone always ask these questions? What you want to be when you grow up? Do you have any dreams or ambitions? It's true that the mind can trick us in believing....but then it's our mind or in layman terms, ourselves. We can make dreams come true. This still stays a fact.
