Long Weekend
Well, it's been a long while I get a chance of a long weekend or more frankly, free on a Saturday. So I got the guys out for a movie.
Eight Below. And we revisited the Japanese restaurant at Cuppage Plaza.
Early that morning
(I mean real early...), I woke up and the first thing I did was to finish up on a song I've been working on. I still don't dare to listen to how it turns out. It may not be good as I was still half asleep at that time. Then after that, a round of Final Fantasy XII and Okami. I found myself playing Okami more than FFXII. Well, I'm action packed. LOL. And for the first time in several months, I watched morning television till lunch.
Rejoice! Human!I had to drop by Music Junction at Kovan to return my DVDs and also pressured the girls on the whereabouts of my Advent Children DVD. Wanted to drop by workplace but my brain told me not to. It sensed a great disturbance which I found out today that they were super busy and Missy was
smoking. So I dropped by IP Zone and walked out with a couple of bags....more new shirts and bermudas. I decided to leave Kovan as I knew I would blow my big hole in my pocket if I stayed on. Well, I'm already burning another one in my another pocket. So it was several calls to people like Gabriel and asking whether they were among the living or long dead like AhSiaKia. LOL.
Then it was recon time. I knew I would have trouble getting all five of us together at one time. So, Rongqiang, Lancer and I went to Cuppage to have our dinner. We had two large plates of fried rice and some fried dumplings. Sound stale right? Okay, we went there 'cos we knew the food rocks. So they
ROCKS!!! I'm going to try their ramen next time.
So how's Eight Below? To some people, it may be dull as there's not much action sequences inside. To me, it was a touching experience. How someone can treat those close to him/her as a whole family and how the whole family stick together through thick and thin. It's sad that there were casualties where all of them shouldn't have taken place. But the interesting part of the movie is this part where the dogs were starving and they needed food. You get to see them communicating with each other and even plotting how to hunt for food. And also acceptance from each other. It's definitely worth to watch a second time.
After the movie, it was K-Box. I finally got them to sing. Rongqiang sound pretty good on the English oldies. Lancer...well...ganbatte ne...lol. About me...I wasn't able to sing normally as I was recovering from cold. The fun part....massive high pitch on Shin's One night In Beijing. I swear we might even break some glasses with all our screaming combined. Even though it was fun. We should have this often.
After losing much of our voices, they wanted to go for drinking. I flashed the red card and bailed out. Me cough...no alcohol. I bidded them farewell and went home. I wondered who got sabotaged and drunk....
A onsight on the things coming....loads of games but no time to play. Free money. Free trip to Asian countries...hope they decide fast enough....no more long weekends.....

Sand Or Rock
A and B are best friends.
Both of them got lost together in a desert. They were tired and thirsty.
Suddenly, A saw an oasis from a distance away and hurried B towards it. Unfortunately, it ended up to be a mirage. B was so fustrated that he hit A. A was upset by B's action that he wrote on the sands, "My best friend just hit me."
Both men carried on walking.
A was starting to be disoriented. He stepped unknowningly into a quicksand and began to sink. B reached out and grabbed hold of A's arm. B pulled with all his remaining strength and got A out of the quicksand. A was grateful that he picked up a stone and carved with a pocket knife, "My best friend just saved me."
By then, B was puzzled by A's actions and questioned A of the reason he wrote on the sands earlier. A replied that no matter how much hurt he felt at that moment, the pain will subside till nothing over time, just like how the wind will blow and even the dents on the sands.
Upon that, B asked A of the reason he carved on the stone later. A replied that no matter what had happened between both of them, B still treated A as someone important and did not hesitate to help him. A wanted to remember this gratitude forever.Someone mentioned this to me at the shop today. My female partner took a while to digest but I knew the meaning of it deep inside me. No matter what has happened, it requires mutual understanding, trust and in this case, forgiveness from both parties to accomplish anything. There's a lot of possibilities..what if A carved the stone in the first place or even didn't carve the stone later or at all? What if B didn't save A?
Helping a friend in need is a friend indeed. This will never go wrong.

The fan died on me...
Honestly speaking, I
REALLY wanted to write an entry like 2 days back but the most unfortunate thing happened to me.....my cpu fan died on me. Well, I have to personally spin the fan to get it running and soon after the whole computer began to crash on me.
Now I realise that my sound card don't like to be moved around. Or more or less it's vulnerable to hardware changes. So it was a trip down to Sim Lim Square to get a new motherboard with Valentine who happened to be free to accompany me. It's quite assuring to have him around too as he can give me some
reasonable recommendations. We went around Cybermind and Fuwell International before we finally settled for a motherboard in Fuwell. So I got a splashing new Asus A8N-VN CSM with AMD Athlon 64 1.8Ghz. But then my misfortune wasn't over.
After the trip to SLS, Valentine and me settled dinner at the usual Le Meridian's Korean stall. I didn't know that there were new additions to the menu. I had the new Kimchi Fried Rice while he had his usual extra spicy pork set. Then we dropped by Mos Burger at Orchard Emerald. As usual, he had his milk tea
(...with lots of milk....) and I had milk shake. That Mos Burger had become a must-go for him. Strangely, that place seems to be very popular. I do frequent there with my friends. It was there that we realised that my new motherboard will not support my old graphic card. Which means....I will need to get a new one. Luckily, there's onboard graphic. It's
still a good thing though till....
I got back home and I immediately installed it. Finally it was running. Then I decided to listen to music for a while. Soon after my movies. That's where it happened. No smoke, no fire and expect no explosion. There were green lines running on my movies. I reinstalled new and old drivers and the problem persisted. Okay, it was a crap. Which means I had to get it replaced and which also mean I had to reconfig, dismantle and fix everything....
OVER AGAIN!!! I hope it was a simple computer......*sob*
Today, I went down and got it replaced. Finally, it was really running and okay. Someone almost got a treat from me but sadly he was unavailable. Next time bah. Okay, time to finish up the configuration. Kai Out.

A New Bus Driver
This just happened not long ago. And I swear it did happen.
I met up with Brandon to pass him his and Brendam's games. Then I took the feeder bus back home. I sat just right behind the bus driver. I was so deep in thoughts that I didn't realise the bus had stopped till the bus driver called me. I was pretty confused and wondering what had I done...
(I did pay my fare ho...)...till I saw that the bus had stopped in the right side of the road. On the far left was the bus stop next to NYP. The bus driver asked me in Hokkien...
Driver: Erm boy
(Heehee...), am I supposed to stop here?
Me:
(Still confused) Huh?
Driver: Am I supposed to stop here?
(Pointing at the bus stop on the left)Me: Nope.
Driver: Oh! Thanks!
The feeder bus is not supposed to stop at that bus stop. It went on route successfully after. Well, it was his luck that I'm a resident but what if I'm not? I can't imagine the mayhem that may happen. The driver happened to look like a retiree and I think I never see him before. So he must be a new driver. After telling him that, he seemed still pretty panicked. I was also starting to worry that if I will get back home or not. I almost wanted to help him out by giving directions.
Oh ya talking about buses, it seems that I always board the same bus back home with a guy who stays in my area as well. That guy also noticed it too. I was wondering if we can be friends just like that? LOL....
