Back To the 8
After a horrifying 2 weeks at Takashimaya, it's home sweet home back to Junction 8. Damn...I sure miss all the staffs and familiar surroundings. But GNA
(Term for the Takashimaya outlet) do have its good points. Due to the reason that it's in Orchard, I passed my time pretty fast there as there were people coming in constantly.
Thanks to the gang who suggested various eating spots in Orchard when I told them I'll be going there. Adam and Brandon suggested the $2
(Now $2.50...lol) eating place on the 6th floor of Lucky Plaza. I went and I quite like the selection of food there thought it seems Filipino turf. But there's one eatery I kept going back often. It's on the 3th floor and it's only recognisable by the "Yong Tau Fu" signboard. Their fried rice is delicious and quite unique compared to the ones I tried before. The main point is that I like the ambience of the eatery. Quiet and there seems to have this relaxing atmosphere.
Oh ya...I forgot to mention that I saw Staff Wee yesterday on the way back home. He just ended his army career 6 months back and I can see if he's trying to bend in into normal life. Also heard from him that Warrant Shue is in overseas and may be ending his army career soon too. It may sound corny but Staff Wee and me shared some father-and-son relationship during the time I was in SAFPU.
Well, I had an extraordinary army life compared to others. First, I was assigned to a welfare company during BMT. My sergeats were total jokers and there were less stress from them. Then comes SAFPU. I was assigned to QM by Chief Clerk. One thing about Chief Clerk she seems to emit some motherly aura around her. And I actually respected her like my mother. My stay in QM wasn't for long till I was asked to help out in the cookhouse. Both Staff Wee and Warrant Shue were total computer illiterate. Can't be blamed as they were long term soldiers. My job there was to help them out in creating forms and charts by using Excel and doing some papaerworks. And you know the best part in working in the cookhouse?
FREE food. And the Staffs from Singapore Food Industries were great people too. We were like one big family. People may complain about the physical and mental stress they faced during national service but deep in my heart, I'm just laughing away.
Okay....gonna stop before I get ambushed. LOLX.
Gonna do somekind of a countdown. 10 days remaining. ^^
