The fan died on me...
Honestly speaking, I
REALLY wanted to write an entry like 2 days back but the most unfortunate thing happened to me.....my cpu fan died on me. Well, I have to personally spin the fan to get it running and soon after the whole computer began to crash on me.
Now I realise that my sound card don't like to be moved around. Or more or less it's vulnerable to hardware changes. So it was a trip down to Sim Lim Square to get a new motherboard with Valentine who happened to be free to accompany me. It's quite assuring to have him around too as he can give me some
reasonable recommendations. We went around Cybermind and Fuwell International before we finally settled for a motherboard in Fuwell. So I got a splashing new Asus A8N-VN CSM with AMD Athlon 64 1.8Ghz. But then my misfortune wasn't over.
After the trip to SLS, Valentine and me settled dinner at the usual Le Meridian's Korean stall. I didn't know that there were new additions to the menu. I had the new Kimchi Fried Rice while he had his usual extra spicy pork set. Then we dropped by Mos Burger at Orchard Emerald. As usual, he had his milk tea
(...with lots of milk....) and I had milk shake. That Mos Burger had become a must-go for him. Strangely, that place seems to be very popular. I do frequent there with my friends. It was there that we realised that my new motherboard will not support my old graphic card. Which means....I will need to get a new one. Luckily, there's onboard graphic. It's
still a good thing though till....
I got back home and I immediately installed it. Finally it was running. Then I decided to listen to music for a while. Soon after my movies. That's where it happened. No smoke, no fire and expect no explosion. There were green lines running on my movies. I reinstalled new and old drivers and the problem persisted. Okay, it was a crap. Which means I had to get it replaced and which also mean I had to reconfig, dismantle and fix everything....
OVER AGAIN!!! I hope it was a simple computer......*sob*
Today, I went down and got it replaced. Finally, it was really running and okay. Someone almost got a treat from me but sadly he was unavailable. Next time bah. Okay, time to finish up the configuration. Kai Out.
