Superman Returns

Yeah, it's the guy who wears his underwear outside. Really, I wondered if he ever questioned himself why he designed it that way. Maybe standard Kryptonian dress code? LOL.

Well, I didn't know Kenneth actually ordered the tickets in advance without telling me and he have to thank his lucky stars that I was available. I received a call from him on Thursday evening asking if I wanted to watch the movie. Back then, I was very skeptical on his chances to get the tickets till later he messaged that he got the tickets. Wow! Then I joined the guys at The Cathay after knocking off work.

Actually before watching the movie, I had heard bits about the movie and most said it was kinda sad and bland. Before I go on, I must say that different individuals have different preferences. So this's how I feel. I agree with the majority. Most of the movie emphasise on Superman's powers and his rekindled relationship with Lois Lane. But the weak point is this....where did all the action go? As I can recall, in the previous movies by late Christopher Reeve, each movie has a super villain. And the exciting battles that sprung off as Superman finally won and saved the day. Okay, Lex Luther is in here and he's a mere mad(hu)man. Well this new Superman seems to be much like a soap drama. And not to mention, the really unexpected twist at the end of the movie. I won't spoil as much as possible but I really find the phrase meaningful.

The son becomes the father, the father becomes the son.

If I'm going to explain...it's going to spoil the movie but please watch it to understand intelligently.

It dawns to me that the guys have been going back to The Cathay for lots of movies. I do agree that it does have that grand feeling and of course nostagic as we have been patrons for a long while. Not to forget we watch X-Men 3 in the Grand Cathay, yeah the renovated old cinema and the largest in The Cathay. It really looks like a grand hall more than a cinema in there. Hey, not to miss the spotlight displays as well.

Seems like there will be a singing session coming soon. Hope this time Kenneth will sing more.
