Building Something From Scratch

You know the greatest joy you get in life is when you create something out of nothingness. When you see the end product, you actually have a sense of accomplishment. Well, Huxley had fun watching us building his new computer while zX and I were kinda helping to build it.

It was an early trip today down to Sim Lim Square to buy the parts for his computer. But before we went there, zX went to J Co to get some donuts for his ex-colleagues. I tried Tira Miss U which I find it extreme sweet till I felt my face was cramping... After getting the parts, we proceeded to Huxley's house to build the computer.

And the fun began from there. zX had a shrewd order of installing which parts first. Then he was wondering if he had placed the CPU at the right spot which I knew he did. We struggled for a while trying to lock the CPU fan down to the motherboard. During the whole process, zX kept saying SHIT when he remembered he forgot to do something which had me rolling on the floor laughing...LOL. After a long two and a half hours later, the computer was ready to be tested. I have to compliment zX's way of arranging the spare cables inside the chassis. d=(^^,)

Then the nightmare came. zX began installing the operating system to the computer which was working on 2 hard disks. In order to backup existing data on to the new hard disk, he created a partition which later he threw the important data in. Then he proceeded to install a new operating system to the other partition on the new hard disk. When he tried to remove the old operating system from the old hard disk, he couldn't. Then we went trying various methods to solve a sudden problem...we couldn't get the new computer to boot up. In the end, we managed to solve it...which was after a long five hours....

We had dinner at Sun Plaza after installing the drivers for Huxley's computer. Huxley and me were making fun of zX who has been eating quite a lot lately. He's gifted in his genes anyway...well, he can eat a lot without the trouble of getting fat. But somehow, he is indeed getting bigger which we agreed it was good for him. He actually wore that skeleton shirt which fitted him to a T. Well, the shirt looks funny but when zX wore it, it looked great on him.

Huxley's birthday is coming soon. I'm still wondering what to get for him...maybe a game???
